Easy Star Bandana for the 4th of July | Popcorn and ChocolateYou better believe I will be rocking this star bandana for the 4th of July this year! I’m not one to go too crazy on the 4th of July but I do like to wear a little something that shows my spirit. This bandana is perfect because it has stars on it, it has a splash of red or blue (or both!), and you can wear it anywhere – in your hair, around your neck, tied to a bag. Materials:

  • Plain white bandana
  • Ink in red or blue
  • Star stamp
  • Optional: glitter, embossing pen, embossing heat gun

How to make a star bandana:

  1. Take your star stamp and press it firmly into your ink pad.

  3. Repeat this process until your whole bandana is covered.
  4. Optional: If you want to emboss a few stars so that they have glitter on them, here is what you will do.
  5. Go over the star with the embossing pen.
  6. Gently pour some glitter on top of that star.

  8. Take your embossing heat tool and GENTLY go over the star, making sure you don’t hold it in one spot for too long. This will cause the fabric to burn. You will see your star turn from the color of the glitter to a bright, almost plasticy texture. This is when you know you are finished. Note: I read that using cotton fabric works a lot better for this so if you are planning on embossing I would highly suggest buying 100% cotton bandanas.Easy Star Bandana for the 4th of July | Popcorn and Chocolate

Although, you don’t have to embroider a cactus baseball hat, you can embroider anything your heart desires – my heart just desires cactus, apparently.

How to make a cactus baseball hat:

  1. Start by drawing your design onto your hat using an embroidery pen (don’t worry it washes off).DIY Embroidered Cactus Baseball Hat | Popcorn and Chocolate
  2. Next, thread your needle with your embroidery thread and begin filling in your design. I used a simple stitch by starting on the back of the hat and pulling the needle through to the front and then bringing the tread across the hat and back through to the back of the hat. DIY Patterned Bandanas by Popcorn and ChocolatePatterned bandanas are all the rage right now. I’m a huge fan of the whole bandana trend that is popping up. I’ve been trying to sneak in patterned bandanas in my all my outfits but get a little tired of the plain bandana print. But with these easy patterned bandanas you can put whatever design you want on your bandanas!

DIY Patterned Bandanas by Popcorn and ChocolateI went with some fairly simple designs for my bandanas but if you are a good artists, go wild! These patterned bandanas are so much fun to wear around your neck or pinned up in your hair. You could even attach to your favorite bag as a little bag flair!

Materials:

Instructions on how to make a patterned bandana:

  1. Start by putting down some newspaper or a towel that you don’t mind ruining. You will be working with bleach so you want to make sure to put something underneath your bandana to catch any seepage. Also, I’d suggest not wearing anything you love in case the bleach splatters.
  2. Lay out your bandana on top of the newspaper/towel.
  3. Pour out some bleach into your paper cup.
  4. Grab your paint brush and start painting on the bleach. I did various designs such as splatter painting, X’s, and triangles. When working with the bleach it does bleed a lot so make your design slightly smaller than you wish as it will get bigger.
  5. Wash your bandana in the sink to make sure the bleach is all out. Let dry and then wear as you please!
